It is also a much better service than the French one which appears to be staffed by 12 year olds in North Africa. When my French neighbour has problems, he asks me to call them. The wait is much less

Re: Free?

Hi. I have a few questions about Free 4G. Can anyone help please? 1) Do they do a box that devices can connect to over wi-fi? Yes http://mobile.free.fr/la-box-4G.html 2) Will it work with Amazon fire stick and Chromecast? Yes 3) Will it allow or be aware of a VPN being used. Yes but VPNs over 4G are...

Go to www.impots.gouv.fr and then choose Votre espace particulier. You need to set up an online account.

Once the account is active you can see all of your tax details

Re: Camper stranded at Carcassonne airport during lockdown

The Dimitri referred to is Dimitri Sindres but he no longer works for Carcassonne Airport.
He is however a helpful guy and speaks good English and it may be worth asking him as a favour if he knows who to contact.

He is on Facebook and LinkedIn so could be contacted on either.

I presume that it is a french account, their iPad app blocked access from outside France for a while but your problem seems the reverse.

If you have a VPN then try connecting via that, it will think you are in the UK

Re: Is nobody interested in Brexit?

I think everyone is just fed up with the whole thing. Lots of people have applied for an Irish passport but I am not sure what that gains you other than a different queue at the airport. Certainly having Irish citizenship gives you the right to be here but you don’t need an Irish passport to be Iris...

There is an exhibition that starts tomorrow in Perpignan, The Foire Expo. It is a bit like the ideal home exhibition and there are always loads of glazing and joinery firms there. It may be worth a look. You can get a free admission ticket here https://pole-artisan.com/realisations/la-foire-expositi...

Funeral advice please

A french friend has died suddenly and the funeral is on Thursday. This will be the first funeral that we have attended in France so we are unfamiliar with local customs. In England we would have sent flowers to the funeral, normally via the undertaker. Is that normal in France? The service is in a c...

In the last few days we've had the calamity in Paris and a major disruption of the D914 at Paulilles. But not a word on here. Which probably tells us all we need to know. Merisin Au contraire! I don’t think it tells us anything. This forum has always been more of a reference source, or a place for ...

Is data protection killing the web?

Is anyone else as irritated as I am at every single website that I visit popping up a notice telling be how they value my privacy and need my permission to store a 'cookie' on my computer? Worse still, they could easily use the said 'cookie' to record my response and not bother to ask me again. Unfo...

Re: Saga Credit Card Service Ends March 19

I use a currency conversion company, Currency Uk, to transfer sterling to euros on a regular basis. Like other companies offering the same service they give an exchange rate much better than the mainstream banks and do not charge fees. I use a French credit card which I then settle with the euros f...

I have never found anywhere in Perpignan that offers anything like the choice available at the Wine Palace in Figueres. Besides the choice, the prices are significantly better.

They also have three other boxes at dimi...

The offer is for a year and then reverts to their normal tariff of 19.99€ a month for 100gb and the same in...

I bought a new SIM from RedBySFR giving 40GB a month for 10 euro and we'll see how it goes consumption wise. They also have 100GB for 20 euro which is stil...

I agree that an Irish passport would get you in the EU queue but surely Irish citizens do not have to have an Irish passport just as you can be a citizen of Britain without a British passport. Ireland defines an Irish citizen as someone born on the island of Ireland, or their descendants, that doesn...

Like Martyn i’m not shy but I don’t normally eat desserts, particularly since it is rare to find a decent one. Sometimes my wife and I share a café gourmande as she doesn’t drink coffee.

The only decent one that I can think of is at La Llonja in Port Argeles which is pretty decent for most things.

We fly from Barcelona on Sunday and I am not sure of the best route to take to avoid the Gilets Jaunes. I’ve been happily using SIMs from Free for data for nearly 2 years with no issues. I have scoured Free’s terms and conditions and have found no mention of any restriction on their use, so I think the stories are just an urban myth. I’ve found 4G very reliable, certainly more so that the ADSL that I ...

Much better but it still uses nearly half the screen on an iPad before anything useful appears. The banner could be smaller if the word Forum was moved to the right of the logo and there is a substantial white space below the banner. Clearing cache is all very good but I don’t know an option to clea...
