Re: Vehicle Registration Costs for Imported Cars

Apologies for alarming the natives. In the end I visited the Prefecture's office and was assisted by a very helpful young man. Actual cost 270 euros. 🤗🤗

Carte de Séjour

Can anyone tell me if all applicants have to visit the prefecture in person during the application process? I want to start both mine and my wife's application straight away, but she is currently abroad, looking after her mother.
Thanks

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. It would seem I have to re-register again via the Ameli website, as I left it too long before updating.

Updating my Carte Vitale

I read on the infocartevitale.fr website that the Carte Vitale must be used at least once a year. Fortunately, I have not had to use my carte for some time (2 Years at least) and I am wondering how I should update it. Any suggestions:?: :?:

Insuring French cars whilst in the UK (Period of one year)

Can anyone tell me if they know a French insurance company that will insure French cars for a year or more whilst in the UK. I am currently in the UK, on a one year work contract with my French car and my current AXA insurance only covers me for a maximum of 3 months whilst abroad? I had been told U...

Private van or a removal company returning to the UK empty?

Any one know of an empty/part empty van or a removal company returning to the UK before the 8th April? We have about 6 -8 suitcases that require transporting back to the UK.

Thanks Kate. From their website they only seem to offer insurance for UK vehicles in France, but I will contact them by email and let you know how I get on.

Thanks again.

Wanted: Recommendations for a good holiday let company

For the last seven years I have advertised my French house for rent through the Homelidays website and achieved a very good response rate. It cost me about £270 a year to advertise with them and I had the facility, at no extra cost, to show my house at the top of their listing, if I updated my adver...
