Moving Back to UK - Van Hire?

We will be moving back to UK towards the end of October & are looking for a van to hire. Roughly 20 cubic meters - a Luton Van size.

Does anyone know of a decent van hire for a roughly 3000km round trip to UK?

Thanks :)

Trailer Hire

Can anyone recommend a place that does trailer hire. We are after a large, twin axle box-trailer to move our house contents back to UK.

Many thanks,

Taniya

Reliable Electrician - Vinça Area

Can anyone please recommend a reliable electrician in the Prades area? We do have one local to us, but he just never turns up!! All we need is a new fuse box.
Thanks

BBC not being received on satellite...

Has anyone else lost BBC (all channels except BBC News) on their satellite/Sky Digibox? We have had v high winds, but the dish looks OK & signal strength/quality is the same as ever. :?

Colin - I agree with you entirely. It's just that some people don't feel confident downloading updates if they are not into their computers - easy though it is, particularly with Mac. I should have elaborated in my earlier post.

That's OK. You have Snow Leopard, but just not the very latest update. If you click on 'Software Update', also under the Apple Symbol your system will check for the latest updates. But you don't really need to even bother with that unless you really feel the need to have the latest version...

Look I am blonde, but what is "snow leopard", we have a MAC. Marguerite & Steve - Snow Leopard is the name given to the newest Mac Operating System (OS) - OS X 10.6. If you click on the Apple symbol in the top left of your screen, then click on 'About This Mac', you will get a box telling which OS ...

Well - I eventually did it. Upgraded to Snow Leopard - no problems & it's pretty damn good. What swayed me was the requirement for Snow Leopard to access the new Mac App Store... well worth the effort. You can upload Aperture 3 there for £44.99, rather than £180 for the CD's! I can highly recommend ...

Camera Service

Good morning everyone, & isn't it a beautiful one!

Does anyone know of anywhere in the Perpignan are that I can get my Nikon DSLR professionally and reliably serviced? I have tried my best to find somewhere online, but have been singularly unsuccessful :(

Many thanks

Riberach Co-operative Restaurant - Belesta

We have just had lunch at the new restaurant at Belesta and it was just wonderful. Superb gourmet food, wonderful service in an attractive setting at very reasonable prices, given the overall quality. We could HIGHLY recommend it to anyone wanting to do something a little special. Sadly they are now...

I know Russell said he didn't recommend Pacar at Rivesaltes for buying a camper, but we have ours stored there & have had no problems at all. €400 p/year, sheltered storage & battery maintenance through the winter if required.

Yes - we were watching both the Womens Rugby World Cup & the Tri Nations yesterday on it. The site provides links to other sites who are streaming events - some live, some recordings & some better than others.

I have a Sony eReader Touch which I just love. Ok - nothing replaces a real book, but for travelling it's wonderful. I buy the books from WHSmiths online. Colioure-Bee, The museum in Valmanya doesn't have any dedicated opening times. The key is held in the Mairie, but the Mayor is usually only around at weekends. The other way to get it is to go to the house opposite the boules square (the one with the gas bottles round the side) and ask Mme Reinne - ...

Kate, You are right about the variation in quotes - it's quite amazing. It's pretty difficult to compare 'like-for-like', but so far I have seen quotes differing by up to €4000 p/a, with what seems like very little difference in cover!! The problem with that is that I am convinced that I am missing ...

My husband & I are 'early retirees' (lucky us) and are currently covered on our E106 until Feb 2011. We then have 3 years until we are covered under the French system - 5 years residency/state retirement age. Therefore we are now looking around for full health insurance. Can anyone provide any recom...
