I think that is probably decided in the Convention Collective associated with the profession you are in - it certainly is specified in the 'Hotels, Cafés,Restaurant's one - and how much, and how many meals. I would have a look at that. However, it will be mentioned on your payslip, probably.

I believe it's one month's notice before the END of your contract. i.e you can't change insurers in the middle of the year, and you have to remember to give them notice one month before the end of the insurance year if you don't intend to renew with them. This does not apply if you have moved, or so...

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm wanting a hotspot, not so much for customers, although if...

Tiffany, Just another thought. Is the phone line rigged up such that both buildings have the same phone number? i.e. one acts like an extension? If that's the case, I may have a cunning plan! Yes, Ian, yes!! Same number - extension, exactly right!!! Only got time for this short reply at the mo - le...

Wifi question

To Ian, and any other techno-boffins out there, I would be grateful for some advice.... We have two buildings separated by about 5 meters-they're quite close. One is the house which has an Alice box (to g- standard wifi protocols)and is of late '70s construction ie standard thickness walls. The othe...

I suppose you could open an ordinary account with someone else - if you don't ask for a card, you shouldn't pay anything, and when you've got a RIB, open the account then with Monabanq. You will have proof of residence with a utility bill and a RIB from your first bank et voila! Did I hear you menti...

Well Ian, here is my reply from Monabanq:

Bonjour,

Votre ami souhaite ouvrir un compte par contre il ne le pourra pas chez monabanq tant qu'il n'est pas résident en france, cordialement.

I used the term maison secondaire just to be sure, - so they'll only accept residents. Sorry.
Best wishes,

No problem - I shall email tomorrow, and report back when I get a reply, although I notice that your reply didn't mention a RIB. John, they and Boursorama are the cheapest banks in France - much cheaper than the others, which is why we bank with them. They charge a lot less for their cards for start...

Of-course you can. I can't believe you can't open an account with them if you don't already have an account somewhere, that would be a bit bizarre. Bon chance!

Well, I'll be...you're not wrong, Ian, they require a RIB. So do Boursorama, as I checked for you. Would you like me to enquire of my personal banking advisor what happens if you don't already have an account if France?

Hi Ian, We have a Monabanq account, and after extensive research, I can confirm that it is the cheapest (along with Boursarama) bank account around. Admittedly we had a BNP account before, but I'm pretty sure you don't need a RIB to open the account. You need to send proof of address and perhaps pro...

Kathy, whenever I've seen it on menus here it has been labelled as Panga - as that is how it is labelled on its' packaging. I've never heard of Carangue. Correction, I've just googled Carangue and it appears to be a huge thing that is hunted for sport, so I think you've got your poissons in a twist,...

just a thought, you have just checked that CPAM were trying to transfer it to your BNP bank account?
