Hi Kenny
I did use my card and I was charged about €75 as far as I can remember, which compared to Ireland isn't too bad!

Had no problem organising someone :D
I must say having dealt with a doctor, a&e and now a nurse in the last few weeks in France I am very impressed with my dealings with the health system over there! Much more efficient than here in Ireland.

Nurse required

Having got an abcess sorted out here in Ireland I am back to good health but still in need of regular dressings. My other half booked us flights back out to France next week but my nurse here tells me I will need to organise someone to do dressings or I wont be able to go :( Are there any nurses on ...

Thanks Kate, went to the medipole in Cabestany and got sorted. They were excellent and I only waited 20 mins. Not what we're used to with A&E departments in Ireland! Just sorry I didn't go there first instead of the doc last Friday.

Clinics in Perpignan area

Please help! I need to get a very painful abcess drained today ( if possible) Are there any clinics that I could go to get this done or do I have to go to a&e in the main hospital? I got to a doc last friday and he gave me antibiotics and pain killers but he didn't seem inclined to want to drain it....

Call for appointment? Or just go to doctor's office

I've never been to a doctor here but I need to see one today if possible. I have looked up English speaking doctors on this site and I see 2 in Argeles. Do I need to call to make an appointment or will they see me if I just go to the clinic? Does anyone know if there's an English speaking doctor in ...

Bakery/patisserie supplies near Perpignan

We would like to bring home some bakery supplies and communion and wedding cake toppers for our daughter's bakery in Ireland. I'm having trouble finding anything. I was given the name of Abelanet but does anyone know if they open to the public? Any other suppliers? We are heading home at the weekend...

We are so loving this warm weather. Since we left Ireland on Sunday they've had heavy snowfall followed by Storm Rachel! Our kids are so jealous of us! Unfortunately we only have a few days left to soak up as much sun as we can :(

Help! Printing required urgently!

Hi all! My brother in law and family are staying in our house in Corneilla and unfortunately the internet is not working. He needs to print off boarding cards for his return to Ireland on Thursday. Can anyone help or suggest where he can go to print them? It's his first visit so he's not familiar wi...

BT, thats the difference between Aer Lingus and Ryanair - one easy telephone call and you're sorted :) We are delighted with the Aer Lingus flights into Perpignan, may be a bit more expensive but so worth it for the convenience and service!

I have been in contact with Heko Echafaudage in Argeles (as recommended by Kate above) and hopefully we will get sorted :)
It is the exterior of the house that we are painting by the way. Just need good weather in May!

Sue, we have thought about just using a ladder but it looks scarily high in parts and I'd rather the safety of the scaffold. - not that I'm the one that's going to be climbing it!

Thanks so much for the offer Monsans :-) we haven't worked out our dates in May just yet but we may be in touch with you. Any idea where we could hire simple scaffolding? Two walls in our house are about 7m in height and they look a bit tall for a ladder!

We are planning to paint our house in May and we really need to hire ( or borrow) some scaffolding and ladders for 3-4 days. Does anyone know where we could source some? Your help is much appreciated :-)

Thanks Kate, but we didnt give ourselves enough time this visit to organise wood. We bought a few small bales in the hardware store to get us by. But we will keep the details you provided if we are out again in a few weeks. Hopefully we will be able to get home to snowy Ireland tomorrow!
