I will not name names on here as I do believe it is against forum rules to say that X builders work is @#=#, but I will do so by PM on request, or with permission from Kate on the forum, who knows which tradesman I am refering to. Some clarification needed here? I don't recollect ruling against mak...

The moderators saw no value in nitpicking through his thread as to what was said by whom, why it shouldn’t have been said and so on. Much was said which should not have been said and words used that would have been better not used. I have pruned the thread to be no more than the discussion of the wi...

Yes indeed. I will have to make up some sort of composite entry so it will have to wait! As you saw elsewhere, The Owl is busy this week.

Ça y est!!!

That's (I think) all the restaurants commented on in various threads collated into the alphabetical list. I had to divide the list up quite a bit as I found that there is a limit to how long an individual posting can be. Still, that means less scrolling down if you are looking for a particular locat...

I have just caught up with this thread, having been momentarily distracted in another part of the forum. I have take out this chap's name and phone number until I can clarify with Kate (who has been away) whether or not she is ok with having them mentioned. Thanks to edann42 for his/her good intenti...

Just don't use expressions like that on the forum, please.

This is a specious argument, Michael. Gippo is a derogatory term directed towards an identifiable group of people and is unacceptable whether you want to call it racist or something else. No place for it in the forum.

To my surprise it was quite easy to go through thread and prune it of all the sniping remarks that were around, leaving I hope a coherent discussion of the original point. I don 't have time to explain each bit of pruning to individuals but in general may I ask for debate to be robust without any pe...

I have deleted postings advertising some distant wine club and removed the names of the posters from the forum. Responses to the advertising from members have also obviously had to be deleted.

Re: pool repair

Perhaps it is not best practice to mention individuals names on a forum such as this. The thread was starting to become a little to close for comfort and whilst the experiences of forum memebers in dealing with companies may well be fair, individuals who work for companies could seek recourse if th...

This is getting a bit heavy, Paddy Frog, and I think you have misunderstood Opas. In any case. in the interest of love and harmony in the forum this line of discussion might be best left at that.
