I can confirm that he passed away on the 10th.

Annaick emailed me to say that he had died after I'd mailed him to say I'd seen his id lurking at TLP. She was obviously using his id.

The BIOS confirmed that it was overheating.

It can happen if the computer is overheating due to a build up of dust. Give it a vacuum then see if it still happens. Good thinking.
