Re: Exemption from short stay visas

The Britsh Embassy in Paris has a weekly Q&A session on facebook. I thought that this was a helpful reply to one of this weeks questions containing as it does one or two useful links: Question Can you help please? We have a 2nd home in the Alps. Are we going to be restricted on how days we can spend...

It was good to see this published by the French Government yesterday: “Paris, 1 September 2020 The situation of British nationals wishing to make short trips to France following the transition period (currently 31 December 2020), for example to visit their second home if their main residence is in t...

Re: French Quarantine Restrictions

Have a great stay in France, Peter. We have come to a different decision and will not be travelling out as we had planned next week but our situation differs from yours in that we were only going out for a week anyway. Spending 2 weeks under virtual house arrest on our return home was not appealing....

Re: International Travel Certificate for entry into UK

We have a flight to Perpignan on 1 September, which I doubt we shall use because of the existing quarantine restrictions in the UK and the imminent ones in France. We have just received a reminder from Ryanair, inevitably trying to sell things, but which also gives links to necessary documents inclu...

I have just come across this tweet from an eminent lawyer with expertise in European law: George Peretz QC @GeorgePeretzQC Aug 13 Replying to @GeorginaEWright Reciprocity is a very dodgy basis for imposing a quarantine under EU law (which still applies here, of course).
