Re: Flights to and from the region this summer

With the resumption of regular flights into the Region, it would be really good to hear from people who have been passengers of their experiences not not only on the flight but also at the airport with regard to the "new normal".

Re: Eurostar to Avignon

Hi Nicki That's good. How are you planning to travel now? We are still hoping to fly Ryanair from Stansted to Perpignan at the end of the month. By the way, I have been reminded that it used to be possible to travel Eurostar to Lille and change there by simply crossing platforms for a train to the R...

Re: Easyjet

I have just tried using, on-line, the Easyjet voucher I received for the flight they cancelled. First, I tried to use it to add seats to an existing booking in September but there was no facility for using vouchers. I then tried using it to make a completely new booking next year. In this case there...

Re: Flights to and from the region this summer

That will please my daughter, her husband and children who are planning to fly into Carcassonne in early August and spend a holiday at our house in Port Vendres. Having worked on the front-line in the NHS with Covid 19 patients this year, she deserves a holiday. I know she will not travel if she or ...

Re: Easyjet

Nicki The BBC report said yesterday, that it was due to lack of demand and difficulties implementing protection measures on long journeys. Eurostar said: "As we restart our service, we are focusing our timetable on our routes between capital cities, which have the highest demand from customers at th...

Eurostar to Avignon

Unfortunately, I see the BBC is now reporting:

"Eurostar's direct summer services to Lyon, Avignon and Marseilles, which were meant to start in May, will no longer be run at all in 2020 or 2021. Instead, the rail company will focus on its main routes between London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam".

Re: Easyjet

I'm confused; the email I received yesterday from Easyjet clearly said, “As it cannot be used online, please call our Customer Service Team to make use of your voucher. Please have the Flight Voucher reference and code word when calling us”. Yet having just looked at the Voucher Terms and Conditions...

Re: Easyjet

I have just received by email the Easyjet voucher I requested on 19 April. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that they have added £10 to the original booking value for supporting them by accepting a voucher rather than demanding a refund. The bad news is that it can't be used online ...

Re: Easyjet

Thanks Nicki We have been flying in and out of the Region frequently since 2004 and have also tried to be positive and supportive of both Ryanair and Easyjet over the years. Following my post last Monday, we are now directly affected by this Easyjet practice.. For some time now, we have had Easyjet tickets for a flight on 1 September departing Gatwick at 18.40 arriving Toulouse at 21.30. We haven't been notified of any cancellation or amendment but I have just done a se...

Easyjet

The airline has also extended the notification period of cancelled flights from two weeks to three. If a flight is cancelled...

Re: Covid booking cancelations

I think you can expect British visitors to cancel if the quarantine arrangements requiring them to self-isolate on returning to the UK survive beyond the review at the end of June. Personally, I'm anticipating that they won't and that the “voluntary” French quarantine rules for Brits will also then ...

Ryanair

I see that Ryanair is now trying to stimulate bookings this summer. I think they may have to ...

Re: Life Café? More like a morgue

Thanks Sus

I think what happened is that we told the hotel that we needed to get home quickly and they took us at our word!

If we were doing it now, I think we would look at all options and may indeed walk between stations.

Flights to and from the region this summer

We have a Ryanair flight booked from Stansted to Perpignan at the end of July. My daughter has a flight booked also...

Re: Life Café? More like a morgue

The hotel where we were spending the night did the booking and all went smoothly apart from changing trains and stations in Paris. We are seasoned trave...

Re: Life Café? More like a morgue

Nicki When we used Eurostar the train arrived at Avignon Centre train station but from what I can see now, it arrives at the TGV station, with a shuttle to the centre, before going on to Marseille. I don't know what car hire is like at the TGV station. Here is a link to the Seat 61 website which may...

Orchestra national du Capitole de Toulouse

Re: Life Café? More like a morgue

We have used Eurostar from Ashford to Avignon but not since the summer of 2012 so things may well have changed. It's a long journey at high speed through French countryside much of which is quite boring. However, the service used to be popular with families and there was a very pleasant atmosphere o...

We use the Birmingham / Perpignan route from time to time and I keep quite a close eye out for announcements. I haven't seen any so I think we shall just have to wait and see.

Ryanair is selling tickets for next summer on the Stansted / Perpignan route so it hasn't apparently abandoned Perpignan.

Yes, it is necessary to consider EU Succession Regulation (“Brussels IV”) first.

Fundamentally,

1) are you "habitually resident" in France and, if so, for how long?

2) are you British nationals?

Re: Recommendation for termite treatment

Glad that its been concluded and your sale has been allowed to go through but it does seem to me that treatment hasn't really been necessary and given that your buyers didn't want it anyway, the only winner here has been the contractor.
