Need to get two suitcases to UK

A friend is now in a nursing home in the UK. Although her furniture won't go until her house is sold, I need to get her clothes to her. Winter is looming over there! Does anyone know a removal company which might take a VERY small load or is anyone going to UK by car who could possibly take some stu...

Thanks, Vicky. The owner still has the cat, I saw her him and her on Monday! I will see if she still feels unable to cope. As she managed this far, she may now find the cat is company rather than a huge worry. Thanks again and I will contact you direct when I have news and if this arises again. It's...

Lovely Cat looking for a new home

One of our members is no longer able to look after her cat. In fact, she inherited the cat, which she knew well, when her neighbour died a few years ago. The cat is grey and white probably around 8 years old (judging from its vet's Carte de Santé), castrated and well looked after with regular vet vi...

Eurotunnel

Sorry for being a bit late with this reply, just spotted post. We have always taken our dog back to UK with us, at least once a year, if not more, as soon as the paasport system came in in 2002 (I think). When you had to cross between 24 and 48 hours after the dog had seen the vet, we always stopped...

Wasps - help please!

Thanks for your suggestions. We have been particularly careful in the past to seek out repellents not killers. And I agree that the paper wasps are fairly friendly, but you cannot imagine the quantity surrounding us today!

Wasps - help please!

With the sun after the cold, we have thousands of wasps swarming around our pool. We do have a problem every year with these paper wasps (the ones with the dangly legs) but nothing like today! Does anyone have any advice to get rid of them, please? We used to buy a product which was a wasp repellent...

Funerals

Thanks for approaching the difficult subject of death (this week's newsletter). The English speaking undertaker is very useful. I also have quite a lot of information for people who sadly find themselves in need, from English speaking clergy to how to complete the formalities. And we could usually f...
